Reeds Spring’s published Code says the mayor and Board of Aldermen manage City affairs and finances. The mayor presides over the Board and votes only to break a tie, except in matters where the mayor has an interest. The mayor also generally supervises City officers and affairs unless that supervision has been delegated to the City Administrator. Under Reeds Spring’s published Code §110.070, proposed ordinances are introduced in writing and read twice by title or in full; both readings may happen at one meeting. A majority of the elected Board must vote yes on final passage, with votes recorded. The mayor signs the ordinance, or it must pass over a veto as the Code provides.
