In July 2017, KY3 reported on volunteers remodeling the original Reeds Spring high school. City offices had recently moved into the stone building, and project leaders described plans to make a community center in the old gym. The report attributed the school’s Great Depression and Works Progress Administration origins to Alderwoman Susan Rogers. Volunteers hoped to preserve recognizable details and reuse materials removed during the work. The article also described graduates’ names etched into the sidewalks as part of the building’s local memory.
